How has my business grown since I started my blog?

Peter Fuller MBA CAHmmm, how has my blog affected my business growth?

This is a bit of a tricky question for me because I did not start my blog with any business in mind.

I started my blog to allow old, lost friends to find me online if they happened to look.

There were a lot of “Peter Fuller’s” out there so I decided to target “Peter Fuller MBA”.

And it worked.

I now talk with old friends on the phone every week who I have not seen in years, one over twenty years.

But that is not the question at hand.

How has my business grown since I started my blog?

Well, let’s see, I created my first business related post on June 21, 2010 and now one month later here are some stats:

I have over thirty people in my training funnel.

Four people have expressed an interest in joining my primary business.

One person has joined my primary business.

Now for some traffic stats.

My current one month Alexa Rank is 306,329 down from some ridiculous number like 7 million.

For some reason I am very popular in New Zealand which is a sign I need to book a flight and look my best.

One month in and to be honest my goal was just to get my blog up and running, not to attract anyone yet to my primary business.

Can you now see how important your blog is to your business?

Thanks to Ana for asking such a great question.

You can see Ana’s original post on this subject here : How Blogging Can Increase Your Lead Generation by 67%

Ana has started a blog meme, which is a rather cool thing to do.

A blog meme is where you tag other bloggers with your post to have them do something, like answer Ana’s question. Ana will receive a ton of links as the originator of the meme (everyone links back to the original post) and of course I will get links back from those I tag.

So, who will I tag to answer the question “How Did Your Blog Kick-Start Your Business Success?“

Josh Garcia | Tommy Dipietro | Jerome Ratliff | Dwayne Huggins | Oliver Tausend | Steve Shoemaker | Marcus Baker

Just because I did not tag you does not mean you cannot participate.

Answer the question in your next blog post, link it back to this post and Ana’s and tag some of your blogger friends to do the same.

If you decide to start your own blog meme in the future I guarantee I will support you.

    Peter,

    Great Job!

I remember when I started my blog and my alexa ranking was like 11.9 mill. Steady working on it, I am now about 365k. Big jump in only a few months.

Now here’s the tricky part. No matter how much information you have on your blog, if you are not syndicating it all over the web, you will get very little traffic.

    Hey Peter,

When I was doing research on how to better my business, everywhere I turned, people were suggesting that I should start a blog and it’s considered the hub in order to have online marketing success. Although I read about 50 times, I finally started a blog and I can totally see the difference. Especially looking at my alexa ratings.

Great story you have. It’s funny how you started a blog just to catch up with old friends, and then you made another one for your business. Now you’re business its growing from this. What more can you say?

Think about this : I created my blog originally to allow old friends to find me, if they looked. But in the end it has allowed me to make great new friends, like yourself.

Answer the question that someone tagged you with, link back to them and the originator of the meme, and then tag someone else to answer the question.

The idea is to see how viral it goes.
