It’s been a long time since my last post however Day 4 of “How to Attract your Niche to your Blog” is now done.
Why so long?
The number one reason is that I have been concentrating my time on revenue producing activities.
The second reason includes procrastination, not making up my mind and trying to be perfect.
You see, Day 4 is about creating the front page to my blog and also ensuring that when someone lands on that page they know exactly what this blog is about.
So what is this blog about?
It is about creating cash flow from owing your own business that will provide for your retirement.
So it is targeted to those 40 and over, Zoomers, or Boomers with Zip.
Most people approach retirement the traditional way.
Work hard at a job, save for retirement, quit that job (retire) and live off of the savings.
And this traditional way is not working for many.
My solution.
Concentrate on building a cash flow that continues into retirement.
I finally got over trying to be perfect, because my front page is far from perfect.
For example, I am not happy with the video, however it is good enough until I update it.
But let’s look at the changes I have made.
I hope you all agree it is nice and clean, that was my objective.
I realize you may ask where I capture readers to add to my list.
My blog is about building relationships and I do not ask people to join my list when I first meet them.
I do have an advantage over some of you who are working on your cash flows using network marketing.
In my business I do not need a lot of people to join my team. Ten max at a time.
The front page does not have a lot of distractions.
I have my picture, which I think is important since I am branding myself.
I have all of the major ways for people to connect with me.
My recent posts and categories are displayed prominently.
And the footer has my contact information in citation format with some nice social proof.
Simple.
Of course I have the disclaimers, terms of service and privacy links at the very bottom.
Here is my philosophy.
Build relationships with like minded people.
Again, simple, like my front page.

Hi there Peter!
I agree with your points on how to optimize your blog but even though I am still rather young, above all I certainly share the same feelings about creating a cash flow now, in order to enjoy peace of mind during retirement! I have started working towards that goal. Slowly, but taking one step at a time. Thanks for your ideas!

Very candid and I enjoyed the read! I also noted that you commented on your video – “you don’t like it” – and I was wondering where it was? I am curious as to what video platform you use as well! I happen to use a video based entity called Talk Fusion for video content on my site and if possible would love to get your opinion of it by sending you a video email. I live in Bermuda and my name is F. Michael Furbert.
Thanks in advance for your consideration!

Hi Peter,
I agree with everyone else that the blog looks great and simple is better.
You are sending a clear, concise message to your visitors and they can receive that message without jumping through hoops and searching all over, which would cause many to abandon your site.
You had an objective and a goal and I would say that it was a success…well done
To your continued zooming,
Marc

Okay Peter, I love this. I love the simplicity. I love the logic. You make sense and your blog makes sense. You designed your niche and provide a solution for retirement preparation.
Your solution is “Concentrate on building a cash flow that continues into retirement.” Your blog is clear and crisp!

Just like everybody here is saying, your blog looks great, I agree that it looks clean and tidy. You’re right about being a perfectionist can affect the duration in writing a blog, I am glad you took the risk, and finally posted this excellent blog.

Nice blog, really neat and tidy. No clutter and understated. I feel this is the greatest way to promote yourself and your business. Trying to be to flashy just end up looking tacky in my experience. Good work

It’s nice to come across a nice clean looking blog where the owner isn’t trying to sell something before you even know them. After reading your series so far I feel like learning more, which is the way it should be.

You’ve done a good job of branding yourself Peter. yes, you need a picture so people can relate to you and yes a simple, understandable format is far better than distractions. If people get confused by too many choices when they arrive at your front page they will soon click away. Good job Peter

Hello fellow Canadian!
Love the nice clean look, unfortunately it has been a while since I have been on your blog so I don’t remember the old look.
I have been considering re-doing my blog too and when I see this lovely job you have done here it makes me want to even more.
thanks for the inspiration

Hello Peter,
I like your front page, simple is better. I’m 53 so, i guess I am a zoomer.
Like how you explained in your video that you need a plan for what it is you want, then put together your plan of action to make the life you want, with application and effort, happen for you.
I don’t think people plan to fail, they just fail to plan, and let life happen, and before long retirement is upon them.

Hi, Peter,
I am still a long way from retirement, but then, I guess this is even a better option, since it means more time to achieve more income until that big day comes ahead. Building a cash flow is an ultimate challenge, and it’s great you are making it all the simple way-that way I am sure you avoid the possible frustrations, as you can cooperate just with the persons you chose yourself and create the like minded community around you.

Hi Peter,
Great to see your new look. Your new home page looks clean and simple and I would add that it is very apparent what it is about. I’ll be very curious to hear what results you get (pre vs post).
Perfectionism can really be a trap and I’m glad to see that you proceeded regardless. We can be our own worst critics and I don’t know about you but I do really try to avoid having to re-do work that I’ve already done but there does come a point…
Congrats on moving forward!
